A woman stands at a lectern in a church, reading from an open book. People sit in pews, and a crucifix hangs on the altar in the background. Candles and religious statues decorate the space.A group of altar servers in white robes processes down a church aisle, with one holding a large crucifix. The pews are filled with seated people, and stained glass windows are visible in the background.

Lectors and Cross Bearers play important roles in the prayerful celebration of the Mass at Ascension Catholic Church. Lectors proclaim the readings from Sacred Scripture, helping the assembly hear and receive the living Word of God. Cross Bearers carry the processional cross at the beginning and conclusion of Mass, leading the liturgical procession and reminding us that Christ and his saving sacrifice are at the center of our worship. Through careful preparation, reverence, and faithful service, these ministers contribute to the beauty and dignity of the sacred liturgy.
