RELIGIOUS EDUCATION FOR OUR YOUTH … MY EXPECTATIONS
1. I want all our children who are not attending Catholic school to participate in religious education weekly and attending Mass with their families.
2. For receiving First Reconciliation and First Communion, the second grade student must have completed at least first grade religious education (this is a diocesan policy) and be participating in Mass weekly with their families.
3. Ascension Parish will now offer Confirmation classes yearly to our ninth-grade students. Confirmation will take place in the Spring. They must have received baptism and first communion. Likewise, they are expected to have attended religious education from third through eighth grade, as well as be participating in the celebration of Mass weekly with their families.
4. The Eucharist is the heart-and-soul, the source-and-summit of our Faith. Therefore, it makes sense that our families would regularly participate in the celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
